Thanks for reaching out to us and we're sorry about the issue you've experienced! "Failed to connect" just means that the app didn't recognize a connection within a 60s window, but it's possible that the Wi-Fi Access Point connected after that window. We will be changing the wording to clarify.
In the mean time, could you check if your Wi-Fi Access Point light is blue or red after you click "Done"?
If it's blue, it's successfully connected and you should be able to link it to your Sesame and connect via Wi-Fi.
If it's red, the connection was not successful, and we'd recommend trying again. Make sure the network is 2.4GHz, and the password is correct. Moving the Wi-Fi Access Point closer to the router or restarting the router may also help the Wi-Fi Access Point connect.
If you're still having trouble getting the Wi-Fi Access Point to connect, please let us know. Thanks! - CANDY HOUSE
