This only happens on few locks when someone uses the key to lock the door.
If you never use your key anymore, this topic could be considered as a very minor issue.
If there's a wiggle room in between, when Thumbturn rotates(driven by the key), Sesame doesn't follow the path, thus Sesame doesn't think the door is locked while it is locked with the key.
However, on the contrary, Sesame can always tell the door is unlocked when the door is unlocked with the key, because the thresholds are different.
You can solve this by filling the space with any material, such as Blue Tack or popsicle sticks to close the gaps. If you don't have other materials at hand, make use of the black foam that sits on top inside your Sesame box.
