Sorry to hear you've been having difficulty getting the knock function to work!
In order to use the knock function, please ensure that you have properly setup the knock function and correctly set the location of your Sesame. Here is a tutorial on how to set up the knock function, including a video demo, that may be helpful: How do I Set Up the Knock Function.
When you are ready to try the knock function, make sure the following are all true:
You are within Bluetooth range of your Sesame and your Bluetooth is on - otherwise your device won't be able to connect to Sesame!
You have enabled location services (turn on Wi-Fi for more accurate location) - the knock function relies on your GPS to determine whether your Sesame app needs to be on the alert for a potential knock from you.
Your door is locked - the knock function can only be used to unlock your door, so it won't work if your door is unlocked.
You have minimized your Sesame app - if you are in the Sesame app, be sure to exit to your home screen; your Sesame app needs to be in the background for the knock function to work.
Once you have done all of the above, knock lightly on your device three times, and Sesame should unlock your door.
If you're having issues getting knock to trigger even after following the tips above, here are two things to try: 1) Knock again to initiate another Bluetooth scan request. Your phone may have ignored the first request, so you may need to knock again to trigger the Bluetooth scan. 2) Unlock your phone before knocking so the phone is more likely to execute the Bluetooth scan.
Please give our tips a shot and let us know if you're still having trouble getting it to work for you. Hope this helps! - CANDY HOUSE
